Bright New Year with a Chemical Peel

Bright New Year with a Chemical Peel

Chemical peels use liquid solutions to smooth skin texture by sloughing away the damaged outer layers of skin. With a peel you are getting the skin to exfoliate, among other benefits.

Get Glowing: Chemical and Physical Exfoliation

A healthy skin glow makes a person feel beautiful. When skin looks toned, dewy, and soft, we feel confident and youthful. How do we achieve that glow? Exfoliation---the process of removing dead skin cells from the outer layer of skin.

My name is Stacey Bernhardt. I have been specializing in professional skin care services for the past decade. During this time, the industry has exploded with advances in medical esthetic procedures including Botox, chemical peels, and laser hair removal. Medical skin care products have also gained popularity during this time (hello Retin-A)! While these procedures and products are safe and very effective, they are indeed medical procedures and should be performed by a trained professional within a medical setting.

In my experience patients receive the most effective care and are happiest with their results when an esthetician and a physician collaborate throughout their treatment process. Working hand in hand with Dr. Glazer, as the only Board Certified Facial Plasticand Reconstructive Surgeon in our area, allows us access to the most effective modalities for treating today's common esthetic concerns.  These concerns include skin cancer prevention, wrinkling, skin laxity and loss of volume (sagging), hyperpigmentation (sun spots), sensitivity, acne and acne scarring. We truly believe that aging affects a person in various ways, so we must utilize a plethora of proven procedures and products to promote a healthy, youthful appearance. There is no “one size fits all.” In our practice we treat each patient, depending on their concerns, from the most superficial skin layers (addressing skin tone and texture) to the deepest layers of fat, bone and muscle (addressing sagging and loss of volume). For example, Botox is amazing for forehead wrinkles, but will not enhance the tone or texture of the skin.  It’s our job to guide you to a treatment plan that will be best for you, your concerns, and your lifestyle.  The products we recommend contain efficacious, medical grade ingredients that require a professional to oversee their use. This collaborative, comprehensive, and progressive approach to anti-aging and healthy skin is why I am so proud to be a part of GFPCS. Our goal here is to create an atmosphere where you feel safe, educated and empowered.

Our blog will be educational and fun! I look forward to sharing with you, and I am always here to answer any questions you may have.
