A Youthful Mouth with Injectable Filler

Mouth rejuvenation using injectable filler may sound a little ‘Hollywood’ but don’t make the assumption that it is not a treatment for you. It’s an in-office hyaluronic acid injectable treatment with Dr. Chad Glazer that will have you walking out the door with a more youthful mouth in less than 45 minutes. Trust us when we say that your mouth looks and feels natural. Do not fear the duck-lips look! Using filler, we can improve those pesky vertical lines around the mouth, lift the corners, and add projection not just to the lip but the mouth area in general. This is a great treatment for adding back volume you’ve lost due to the natural aging process, or to being genetically predisposed to thin lips. We can also improve facial proportions if your upper or lower lip is smaller than the other, and enhance your profile by increasing lip projection.

What’s hyaluronic acid?

As defined by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, ‘hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance found in your body. High concentrations are found in soft connective tissues and in the fluid surrounding your eyes. It's also in some cartilage and joint fluids, as well as skin tissue. It is extracted and reformulated and now has become one of the most popular kinds of injectable fillers. If the term sounds familiar, it's because the same substance is often injected into the aching joints of people with arthritis to ease pain and provide extra cushioning.’ The HA used in fillers such as Juvederm is specifically synthesized to bind and give lasting results from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of filler.

How do I know which filler is right for me?

The best filler for you is dependent on the area that you’d like to add volume to and your desired result. For example, Juvederm Volbella and Restylane Silk are designed specifically to provide natural looking results for the lips and mouth by using smaller, smoother HA particles. If you held some of the filler in your hand, you would see that it’s more fluid and not as stiff as other injectable fillers. Other Restylane and Juvederm products use larger HA particles, which makes these more suitable for adding volume to the cheeks like Voluma, or filling nasolabial folds like Restylane Lyft or Juvederm Vollure. These products will be stiffer, or thicker, offering more projection. Think of it like an artist using different types of paint on a canvas to create a painting. Not all paint serves the same purpose. They’re all similar, but some are more suitable for certain areas than others. Please remember that it’s important to be treated by a highly skilled professional like expert Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Chad Glazer to ensure amazing results.
